Hello lovely reader,

I'm Sarah, currently enjoying working in children's publishing, contributing to children's literacy. One fine day I'd like to rent a field of oak trees, buy a bell tent to live in, own a friendly cat called Arnold and commute to work in an old Fiat 500- but I'll let you know how things pan out.

What's that you ask?

What camera do you use?

I use a Nikon D70. The moment I took it out the box I started shooting my A-level project with it and we've been capturing the beautiful things we find around us ever since.

What inspires you?

The Bible

Jumble sales
Old leather arm chairs
Dark wooden celling-high bookshelves
Small winding cobbled streets
The smell of freshly baked carrot cake
The joys and smiles a children's story book can bring
A summer's meadow full of flowers and the hum of bumble bees

What techniques do you use?

I particularly enjoy experimenting with natural light and different angles. How will the sun change the space I'm in and the look of the object I am shooting?

I hope you enjoy reading my blog as much as I enjoy writing and creating it.

Much lovely love,

Sarah Johanna Ross-Smith
